On the surface, this name might seem as if it has its origins in the female reproductive system, and it does clearly owe quite a bit to this most treasured aspect of human biology. Also thick in the mix, however, are faint references to the human condition beyond our mere physical bodies. Contained within these surprisingly efficient three syllables are rhythmic notes that hint at a fallen utopia, that aching feeling of endlessly striving toward perfection even as failure looms on the horizon. Shorten it to Fally or Pia for a little fun.
